A Tale of Stain: Epilogue
I wake up and find myself on the familiar bed, covered in familiar sheets. The pale evening sun is shining through the small window.
She walks into my room, and I remember her face from the party. She smiles and lays down a small cage by my bedside table.
“She’s better off here, really,” she says, and turns to walk away.
My neck aches, but I force myself to turn my head to see the cage.
There she is, my little Daisy, my only friend.
